CUWFA on the Cutting Edge:
An Innovations Showcase!

Call for Proposals

CUWFA invites work-life practitioners and researchers to showcase a current initiative, program, or research project on issues related to CUWFA’s mission and goals at the 2018 CUWFA meeting in Atlanta, GA. This showcase, scheduled for Tuesday, March 13th, is designed to promote awareness about new research, best practices and innovation in the field of work-life on the college campus and to encourage dialogue, connections and engagement amongst peers with like-minded interests and goals.

Presenters should be prepared to present short summaries of their signature work within a timed “speed networking” format. They must be able to present and engage in Q and A as conference attendees move about the room. Groups will spend no more than 10 minutes with each presenter.

All presenters should include a visual demonstration of the project, research or initiative that is being shared and may utilize a variety of visual examples. These examples may include table top posters, brochures, a website, guides, video or podcast clip, or other creative media, to encourage dialogue during the Q and A periods.

Please submit an abstract of no more than 250 words on your topic by December 20 to [email protected].

Criteria for Review and Submission:

  • Clarity and coherence of submission
  • Information sharing, connecting and engaging with CUWFA colleagues is a primary goal
  • Relevance and usefulness to the intended audience
  • Contribution to scholarship and research and/or new innovative practice(s) in the work-life arena
  • Relevance to the conference theme
  • Overall quality of proposal
  • Extent to which proposal captures emerging trends in research and practice
  • Extent to which process, project, or innovation can be replicated or modified by other post-secondary institutions
  • Be prepared to share submission multiple times including Q&A
  • Presenters should bring any supplies, such as poster boards and laptops, if relevant to their presentation

Please note: We expect to select up to 10 presenters. A proposal may satisfy the innovations showcase criteria, but it may not be selected due to the limited number of possible participants for this session. Presentations must be educational and not a platform for product or service promotion.

If you are considering a proposal, please let us know; this information will help us facilitate our planning.

Questions? Please email [email protected].

We look forward to receiving your proposal!
